About the Anzisha Prize Fellowship
The Anzisha Prize program aims to support and empower young entrepreneurs to believe in the difference they can make in Africa. Understanding that the future of Africa lies in their hands, leading youth entrepreneurs are in the frontline serving as role models and inspiring other young people to become problem solvers.
Currently, the Anzisha Prize is Africa’s biggest award for her youngest entrepreneurs aged 15 – 22 years. Every year, over USD $140,000 is disbursed to support the most promising entrepreneurs from all over the continent.
The three-year-long program is designed to celebrate and reward business growth. As such, the program will track the performance of the business and the entrepreneur. The objective is to identify and reward businesses that show exemplary growth and initiative with benefits and services such as short courses, cloud services, and cash stipends.
Benefits of participation
At the end of the second year, entrepreneurs will pitch their businesses and successes for a chance to win their share of prizes to the value of $140 000.
The Grand Prizes are split into 4 categories:
- The Job Creation Prize
- Revenue Growth Prize
- Storytelling Prize
- Integrating Systems and Processes Prize
Requirements
To qualify to be one of Anzisha Prize Fellows for 2022, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be between 15 and 22 years old with an ID document or Passport to present as evidence. Note that anyone born before September 1, 1998, or after August 31, 2006, will not be considered.
- Be a citizen of an African country with a business based in Africa for African customers/beneficiaries.
- Be a founding member of a business that is already existing and has a proven track record.
- Your business, invention, or social project can be in any field or industry (climate, renewable energy, waste management, science and technology, civil society, arts and culture, sports, etc.).
