The global search for innovations that make buildings more climate-resilient and resource-efficient is on. The CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) 2022 is now open!
The CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) 2022 is taking the lead in rallying the global community to catalyze new ideas to combat climate change and increasing its support for emerging innovations that can achieve its ambitious 2030 CapitaLand Sustainability Master Plan targets in order to make a sustainable impact for future generations.
The CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) 2022 is seeking joint action from real estate developers, enterprises, government, and society to develop ground-breaking solutions for healthy and safe buildings, waste reduction, and energy and water efficiency improvements. This is because the buildings and construction sector consumes 36% of the world’s energy and accounts for more than one-third of annual carbon emissions.
To address this and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement to keep global temperature rise well below 2°C, preferably 1.5°C, the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) 2022 aims to help stakeholders rethink the way buildings are designed, built, and operated. This will not only combat climate change but also ensure the well-being of building occupants and users.
Application details
The application process for the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge is in two stages:
Stage 1: At this stage, applicants fill out a registration form consisting of 21 questions that take approximately 7 minutes to complete. If you perform well, you move to the next stage.
Stage 2: At this stage, eligible applicants will be invited to submit the full submission Form within 7 days. The completed full submission form shall be submitted by 28 February 2022.

Benefits
- Up to S$50,000 to cover each pilot’s costs.
- Up to 10 outstanding innovations will be given an opportunity to pilot at selected CapitaLand properties around the world.
