Hello, readers. Trust you’re having a great day.

Welcome to #Women4theClimate on CleanbuildVoices!

In today’s edition, our Woman Crush Wednesday (WCW) is none other than Adesuwa Obasuyi, a Nigerian environmentalist and climate change activist who is part of the climate justice movement in Nigeria.

Adesuwa Obasuyi is the initiator of the Sustainable Africa Cities and Communities Initiative, which is an environmental non-governmental organization that focuses on waste and waste data management in Nigeria and Africa.

As the Executive Director of the Sustainable Africa Cities and Communities Initiative, she is involved in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that are centered on creating scalable solutions for the poor and marginalized groups so that they can access basic infrastructure.

Adesuwa Obasuyi holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Quality Management and her passion for creating a better country as well as her knowledge, stands her out as an exceptional environmentalist and one of the emerging voices for environmental advocacy in Nigeria.

She heads and also contributes her wealth of knowledge in the design and/or implementation of environmental management & capacity building projects in various parts of Nigeria in areas such as climate change, renewable energy, environmental institutional development, water & waste management, and sustainable development.

Adesuwa Obasuyi is instrumental to many environmental and youth-centered awareness programs, projects, summits, and initiatives, which are geared towards achieving the SDGs.

To change the mentality of people towards sustainability, climate change, and other environmental issues, she explores opportunities to learn more and be in a better position to engage citizens and leaders on sustainable development.

She understands the policy landscape and has built relationships with as well as advised policymakers, civil society, academia, and the private sector both in and outside Nigeria.
