Apply! Social Media Video Contest for COP26 Resilience Hub

Are you an active social media user with a desire to support global actions to reduce climate change? Do you have resilience solutions to tackle the effects of climate change? If yes, apply for the Social Media Video Contest for COP26 Resilience Hub.

About the contest

In anticipation of and during the Resilience Hub at the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) Climate Summit, the Resilience Knowledge Coalition has launched a video contest on social media set to run on social media from 23 October to 12 November.

To that end, young people under the age of 30 are invited to submit video entries that highlight resilience solutions to tackle the effects of climate change.

The winning entries will be showcased on the Global Resilience Partnership’s social media channels during COP26. The entries may also be shared during the Resilience Hub’s “Windows to Resilience” updates.

One of the benefits of social media is the opportunity to engage already digitally connected young people. As such, the contest will capture Audio-Visual content from young people who will post submissions on Instagram with specific tags (see below).

The theme of the contest

Interested applicants will be required to share their resilience solutions that can help tackle the effects of climate change? For example:

  • What Eco-friendly habit(s) have you adopted to tackle the effects of climate change?
  • Is there a climate adaptation story or resilience solution in your neighborhood or community that you would like to share?

Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), the organizer of the contest, believes that resilience is about having the capacity to persist, adapt, and transform in the face of shocks, uncertainty, and change. Hence, the call for youths to share what climate resilience means for them.

Shortlisted entries will be featured across GRP’s various platforms.
